This was a drawing that I was paid to do. All the person asked me was it to be of Marilyn Monroe and that it didn't matter how I drew her, as long as her lips were red. So, this is the result! I'm happy to say that he was very pleased with it. I decided to do this portrait on gray paper because I thought by using the white highlights, it would show the classic beauty of Marilyn. I used prismacolor colored pencils on the lips using 3 shades of red and then using graphite pencil to bring out the darks. The rest of the portrait was done using graphite pencil and white charcoal.
