Artist's Comments

Ok, onto my photorealistic stuff. These are the types of drawings I did before the anime drawings. This drawing of Galadriel and Frodo was my 1st attempt at photorealism. I did this drawing about 4 years ago and it was done using graphite pencils and bristol paper.

That is so incredible!!! I love it! Mighty realistic, woah!!!
Must :+fav: I was just wondering what Bristol paper is? I've never used it before. Is it the best paper for pencil drawings?

Awesome. One of the best scenes out of the movie.
:iconelvesatemyramen:
Yes, a great scene. So tender!

Thanks again sweetie!! To answer your question, Bristol paper is very nice sturdy paper that you can get either smooth or textured. And yes, it is WONDERFUL for pencil or any dry medium of any kind. You can get it in any art store...it usually comes in pads of 20.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh TsubasaAino, you are too funny. Hope those words find you again;-)

Thanks for answering my question, um, is textured Bristol paper better then smooth?

No prob! The textured paper would be good id you were working with something like charcoal or pastel, because then the medium would stick to the paper better and wouldn't smear as much. But if you want to do something with colored pencil or regular pencil, then I would recommend the smooth. That's what I used for all my portraits and Inuyasha drawings...except for the select few on the gray paper.
